The MOPAR Redeye head features upgraded single-groove valve collets (keepers) and revised spring retainers that provide 33% better oil cooling at the tip of the rocker arm compared to the standard Hellcat head.
- Valve Keepers: These Redeye heads use single-groove (single lock ring) collets for higher stability at high RPMs, whereas standard Hellcat heads use a multi-groove design.
- Cooling and Heat Loads: The Redeye cylinder head castings are engineered to tolerate higher thermal loads (up to 800°C) and higher clamp loads to support increased boost from the factory 2.7L supercharger.
- Redline Capacity: Installing the Redeye/Demon-spec complete cylinder head kit on standard 2015+ Hellcat engines allows a safe increase in the factory redline up to 6,500 RPM.
- Valves: Both share high-flow dimensions—2.14-inch hollow stainless steel intake valves and 1.65-inch sodium-filled exhaust valves—but the retention and valvetrain oiling geometry around the tips are optimized on this Redeye H.O. head.
NOTE 1 : These Redeye heads fit standard 6.2L Hellcat Challengers, Chargers and Durango as well as Trackhawks and TRX. If using aftermarket valve springs for aftermarket camshafts, be aware that these Redeye heads use a different spring retainer than standard Hellcat "Non-H.O." cylinder heads. At HHP we use this retainer (23622-16) in our Redeye spring kits (HHPSPRINGKIT2)
