Direct Connection thermostat by MOPAR!
OEM Quality & Reliability combined with MOPAR Direct Connection Performance. This is the same thermostat found in MOPAR's Direct Connection Stage Kits.
Designed to begin opening sooner than the higher-temperature factory thermostat, this upgrade allows coolant circulation to begin earlier and can help support lower, more consistent operating temperatures when paired with properly calibrated electric fan settings.
More consistent temperature control can help reduce heat soak and support repeatable performance during spirited street driving, drag racing, towing, and other demanding operating conditions. Actual coolant temperature will vary based on fan settings, ambient temperature, vehicle speed, engine load, cooling-system condition, and vehicle calibration. A 180-degree thermostat does not mean the engine will remain at exactly 180 degrees.
Engine Applications:
- 2003-2008 5.7L
- 2009-2025 5.7L VVT
- 2005-2010 6.1L
- 2011-2025 6.4L 392*
- 2015-2025 6.2L Supercharged
*Does not work on RAM 6.4L
RECOMMENDED FAN SETTINGS:
In order to take full advantage of your HHP 180 degree thermostat, on applicable vehicles with adjustable fan settings, we recommend the following fan temperature adjustments on your Diablosport tuner handheld or in your custom tuning software. Set All 9 Fan Settings (both Air Condition On and AC Off) to:
- All HS (High Speed) Fan Settings to 194 Degrees
- All LS (Low Speed) Fan Settings to 189 Degrees
- All MS (Med. Speed) Fan Settings to 192 Degrees
*Failure to set your fan settings at these higher temps will result in your fans constantly running and can cause your fan motors to burn out prematurely.
NOTE: Running a cooler thermostat than OEM may cause your vehicle to trip a P0128 thermostat rationality code during cold start conditions. If your vehicle trips this code, your coolant test settings for cold start may require adjustments through custom tuning. This is a standard tuning procedure and has been common place since the HEMI was first introduced in 2003. The code does not cause a loss of power or create secondary issues or put your engine at risk, but we hate CEL's and we tune so you've come to the right site.
Popular vehicle applications include Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum, Chrysler 300, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Jeep Trackhawk, Dodge Hellcat, Demon, Redeye, and Ram TRX models equipped with compatible 5.7L, 6.1L, 6.2L, or 6.4L Gen 3 HEMI engines.
