With valve train stability being Manton's main concern, they manufacture all their shafts to be very stiff. These Stiff Shafts help Support the cylinder head like a Girdle. Manton's choice of material is .250” wall thickness 4130 Chromoly steel. Each heat treated shaft is prepared in a four axis milling center, then center less ground undersize, finish ground to size and Nitrided. This leaves a hard surface with low friction, providing excellent wear protection in any application, including use in your daily driven street Hemi or 2000+ HP Race Car. All of Manton's shafts use a threaded plug to seal each end. This eliminates any chance of an oil leak from worn or poor fitting O-rings.
