Description

Universal Credits for MPVI/RTD.

HP Tuners uses a credit-based licensing system. Credits are used as currency to purchase licenses for the different modules in a vehicle. Licensing a module gives you the ability to tune it through the use of HP Tuners Editor software and an HP Tuners supported device, such as an MPVI4, MPVI3, MPVI2 or an RTD3 or RTD4. The number of credits necessary to purchase a license varies depending on the vehicle and the ECU you plan on tuning.

Many vehicles are (2) credits for licensing the ECM/PCM, and may have additional options such as a TCM, FICM, or CCM.

  • For most MOPAR based HEMI vehicles, to include Challenger, Charger, Magnum, 300 and 300C, Grand Cherokee, Durango and Ram vehicles, you will need 2 credits for your PCM license (Engine Controller).
  • For NAG1 5-Speed and RFE 5- and 6-Speed automatic transmissions, transmission licensing is typically included at no additional cost with your PCM licensing (2 Total).
  • For 2014 and newer vehicles with 8HP70, 8HP75, 8HP90 and 8HP95 8-Speed Automatic transmissions, 4 additional credits (6 Total) are required to license your Transmission Control Module.

You can find a complete list of HP Tuners supported vehicles and credit costs on their supported vehicle page here.
