We needed an option that was equivalent if not better in quality and similarly priced to the industry standard main studs we had all come to rely on. We achieved just that in these new Energy Manufacturing HEMI Main Stud Kits for the 5.7L, 6.1L, 6.4L and Hellcat 6.2L iron block engines.
Crafted from vacuum melted micro alloyed American manufactured HSLA steel, each fastener is heat treated and undergoes a proprietary tempering process to achieve a fine grain structure prior to thread rolling. These premium fasteners use ALL available factory block threads to distribute stress loads and are fully stress relieved prior to centerless grounding for maximum straightness. The included fasteners feature the greatest stretch area in their price class optimizing cycle fatigue properties. Each fastener is hot temperature oiled and brilliant black oxide coated for protection. The kit contains forged high strength heat treated 12 point nuts and precision ground load distributing washers, ensuring a uniform clamp load, fastener assembly lubricant and installation procedures.
Upgrading the main studs on all higher horsepower engine builds is a necessity, preventing main cap walk and fretting as well as protecting the threads in your engine block.
Fastener lengths are engineered from production parts and machine tolerances. Final QC was completed by BES Racing Engines to ensure proper fitment and performance before release.
