Installing Your HHP/PSI Spring Kit

Note: On older 6.1L/5.7L heads, shims go over the spring seat since spring seat/locator has the valve seal built in. For 6.4L/6.2L VVT heads (as pictured in this guide), shims go under the spring seat (they will not fit over).

Old spring and retainer come off:

 

 

Spring seat/locator comes off (6.2L/6.4L only):

 

 

 

Install shims:

 

 

Reinstall spring seat/locator:

 

 

 

Install new spring:

 

 

 

Install new Manley titanium retainer on top of spring:

 

 

 

Use tool to depress spring/retainer & reinstall valve locks:
