Description

Each Cam is specially designed, or we should say redesigned, to work better than any other manufacturers cams on the market with the New MDS HEMI. We examined all of the driveability issues and our new redesign addresses all of the problems with the current aftermarket cams including the idling and roughness that have previously been unavoidable. We're extremely confident that our Stage 1 HHP Racing Cam will beat the competition in power and performance.

All of our Stage 1 cams are designed to work without the need for computer tuning, saving you hundreds of dollars, though we expect even larger gains will be seen with all of our cams if combined with tuning. Our dyno output of 344 rear wheel horsepower, which is the equivalent of 419 horsepower at the crank, was seen when this cam was combined with a Superchips tuner, a full exhaust system and a performance air intake. That's just shy of SRT-8 Power!

Specifications:

  • Tappet Lift at 0.006 Duration: 260/Intake & 264/Exhaust
  • Valve Timing at 0.050 for Intake: 11-/Open & 39/Close
  • Valve Timing at 0.050 for Exhaust: 41/Open & 9-/Close

Dyno Numbers: 40 Horsepower Rating

Installation of this camshaft in a 5.7 require 6.1 Push Rods or milling of the heads .030 due to the differences in the base circle of Comp Cams core.

    Stage 1 base circle

Posted by Jerry Galiano on Sep 12th 2014

I have been using this cam in my06 Daytona since May 2014, and I am very pleased. The power gains are very noticeable, with headers, intake, Diablo 93 CAI tune and under drive pulley, the power is on par with SRT's. I added 3.06's for a little extra kick.

My question is what is the base circle of the stage 1 cam? I am using 6.1 push rods and springs, and I am experiencing "ticking" at idle and I am wondering if my push rods are to short. Should I use 6.1
forged exhaust (if cam is based on a 6.1 base circle) or just use 5.7 forged all around.

Thank you for a wonderful product, and for helping me "Put the power to ground"
