We get asked a lot of questions about what all goes into a VVT HEMI camshaft package. Since we did the majority of the R&D testing for Comp Cams on the HEMI cars, and we do a lot of installation of these packages in our shop we decided to put the parts package together as a full kit with all of the required parts you need to complete the install. This package is for stock engines only. If you have a power adder such as a supercharger, nitrous or a stroker engine, please contact us for a more customized package.

If you have a 6-Speed Car you will need:

  • COMP Cams Camshaft (included)
  • COMP Cams 5761CPG Phaser Limiter (included)
  • Our Spring/Retainer/Locator Kit (Add Unless You Are Ordering Our Stage 3 Ported Heads With Them Already Included)
  • Custom PCM (Engine) Tuning

*Manual Transmission cars do not need Non-MDS Lifters or the head bolts and gaskets needed for the installation of the lifters.

If you have an Automatic Transmission Car you will need:

  • COMP Cams Camshaft (included)
  • COMP Cams 5761CPG Phaser Limiter (included)
  • Head Bolts & Gaskets (Add On)
  • Non-MDS Lifters (Add On)
  • Our Spring/Retainer/Locator Kit (Our Stage 2 6.4L and Stage 3 5.7L Heads come with these already installed)
  • Custom Tuning for PCM (Engine) & TCM (Trans) Tuning*

Automatic cars must remove the weaker MDS lifters from the engine in order to run one of these more aggressive camshafts and the only way to change the lifters is to remove the heads off of the engine.

Special Notes:
1. 2009 model year 5.7L R/T cars will need to have their PCM's upgraded to 2010 Calibrations to be tuned*
2. 2011 thru 2014 R/T cars typically require custom trans tuning to raise shift points. We have TCM options*

    For stock intake /stock torque converter you can't beat this camshaft. Provides the great gains down low and strong top end... For a daily driven vehicle this thing will transform your car into a monster but keep it compliant enough to drive year round. Another tried and true HHP product

    The whole process was streamlined was able to get the answers to the questions that I needed so there was no backtracking during this project. Parts were correct and received them quickly. And in the end game changer. Josh and his crew at HHP we're great

    The entire HHP experience was great from ordering with Josh going over my questions and concerns to follow up emails to technical support all was very quick to responsed and always down to help. Thank you for taking the concerns out of getting the correct package for my build.

    Best Purchase for Daily Driver

    I originally went with the HRT Stage 2 cam, but HHP helped me out tremendously by swapping my order for this cam package with the 270 cam. I daily drive and take lots of road trips in this car. So I figured the middle cam would be best. Chop sounds amazing, there’s no knocking, my motor stays relatively cool with my 180 thermostat, and the car is ridiculously loud paired with Corsa catless longtubes and extreme catback. Utterly disgusting that I love it so much. Who needs a 392 when you’re making more power with this setup??? Huge shout out to Joshua and HHP for making this happen!!

    I own a 2011 Challenger R/T (little hemi). its paid for and I contemplated selling it for a bigger motor 392 scat but, I decided to spend a little money on her instead and boy am I glad I did. I went with the 274 package and added the BES/HHP heads. These cars respond incredible to this package. my original horsepower was 330 just before the tear down. After the installation and tuning was complete, my car makes 426hp and 390 ft tq. and the horsepower just keeps climbing. This is just what the doctor ordered, I could not be happier with the results...‰Û_

    Endless HEMI Power , HHP Support

    I was looking for the right Cam to get my new modern HEMI to sound and act like a Classic, well I found the answer! High Horse Performance helped me wade through the options and I ended up with the 274 VVT Cam and phase limiter. BEST CHOICE I COULD HAVE MADE!!!

    This Cam and Tune has put my 5.7 far above the stock SRT8 in power and NOTHING comes close to the sound and Lope that this gives you.

    HHP was the Best to deal with very helpful and the install was flawless.

    its been 3 years now and I love it.

    Amazingly even the 424 RW HP I got I still get 23 MPG on the highway with my 6 speed.

    I would be more than happy to share my experience with anyone!!

    My only wish is that I had gotten the email tuner package that they now offer but didn't at the time I got mine, It would be great to play with the tune for specific events.
