1) Horsepower Goal
- 700–850 WHP: Moderate boost with strong cooling and a conservative tune.

- 1000–1300+ WHP: Requires full supporting system: fuel, cooling, belt drive, and often a built engine.
2) Fuel Type
- Pump gas: Typically limited by knock sensitivity and heat. Cooling is king.
- E85: More boost and timing potential, but requires significantly more fuel volume.
3) Supporting Mods
- Fuel system: injectors, pump(s), and pressure control matched to the power goal
- Cooling: heat exchanger and intercooler strategy for consistent IAT control
