This Hellcat Racing Belt Tensioner is fabricated from 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum and is designed and engineered using our custom springs, hardened steel shafts, needle, and thrust bearings. This is a direct bolt-on replacement for the stock tensioner for the supercharger drive and with 35 LBS of spring tension, it is nearly twice as strong as the factory item. This item is sold with a 72 MM x 10 Rib Double Bearing Grooved Billet Pulley (weighing 1 LB less than the stock pulley), a Billet Dust cover and all necessary mounting hardware. All components are anodized, providing a hardened finish for protection and to minimize belt wear. In addition, we also offer a 73 MM x 10 Rib Double Bearing Smooth Billet Idler Pulley, which is designed to replace the steel idler from the factory. This too weighs 1 LB less than the factory pulley and includes a billet dust cover and mounting bolt. This can be purchased as part of our Hellcat Racing Belt Tensioner Kit. Finally, we offer ceramic bearings as an upgrade for any of our pulleys.
Upgrade your pulley to Ceramic Bearings!
Serious racers are constantly pushing the envelope, and everyone knows that shaving off .001’s of a second from their ET which translates into more win lights.
Ceramic hybrid bearings use ceramic balls and steel races. Ceramic balls weigh up to 40% less than steel balls, depending on size. This reduces centrifugal loading and skidding, so hybrid ceramic bearings can operate up to 50% faster than conventional bearings. This means that the outer race groove exerts less force inward against the ball as the bearing spins. This reduction in force reduces the friction and rolling resistance. The lighter ball allows the bearing to spin faster and uses less energy to maintain its speed.
Ceramic silicon nitride balls exhibit much greater hardness than steel balls resulting in at least 10 times greater ball life due to the ability to hold the surface finish longer. The ball has dramatically smoother surface properties than the best steel ball resulting in less friction between the balls and bearing race surfaces. Thermal properties are also dramatically improved over steel balls resulting in less heat buildup at high speeds. Ceramic has 35 percent less thermal expansion, 50 percent less thermal conductivity, is lighter weight, and is non-corrosive.
We are so confident that our Street Performance Belt Tensioners are the strongest and most reliable on the market that we guarantee our product for life against bending or breaking under normal use.
